For CarLogio Rodríguez, discovering the apparitions in Garabandal meant discovering the Church and the Sacraments of the Eucharist and Confession, which he had not received since his First Holy Communion. He is convinced that “Garabandal is the answer from Heaven to the situation we are living today.”

My name is CarLogio Rodríguez, and I am from Irapuato in Guanajuato, Mexico. When I heard about these apparitions of the Virgin Mary in San Sebastián de Garabandal, in that little Cantabrian town, I was impressed that the apparitions attach great importance to the Christian Faith’s essential basis: praying the Holy Rosary; obedience to and prayer for priests; and love and devotion for the True Presence of Our Lord, Jesus Christ, in the Eucharist. The aforementioned must be lived in the state of grace, “leading good lives.” Garabandal is the answer from Heaven to the situation we are living today.
Discovering these apparitions has shown me the way to learn more about our Church, devotions, other Marian apparitions, and how a Christian truly ought to live. I learned about the apparitions in Fatima and Medjugorje through Garabandal, and despite being Mexican, I learned a lot more about Our Lady of Guadalupe’s apparitions at Tepeyac.
I see the Garabandal apparitions as Jonah’s declaration to the people of Nineveh, because Garabandal made me aware of the condition I was in and how I had lived until now. I am a baptized Christian, but how have I lived my life in the eyes of Christ? Am I living how the Virgin Mary taught the girls to in Garabandal? I went to Mass, but not to Confession. In fact, it took several years until I went again, even after learning about the apparitions. I had not received the Body of Christ since my First Holy Communion. About 11 years passed before I became aware of this great and beautiful Mystery of God’s love and mercy in Confession and the Eucharist.
Below is a prayer I wrote while reflecting on these very beautiful apparitions of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel in San Sebastián de Garabandal:
Oh! Virgin Mary, Our Lady of Mount Carmel,
Who appeared to four girls in San Sebastián de Garabandal,
You who are so kind that You do not desire our condemnation,
I beg your intercession, although I truly do not deserve so much of You, for all of my brethren:
May those who do not believe, have faith.
May the sick be healed.
May those who have faults be converted.
May the kind and just continue on the path of holiness.
Whatever I do in life, may I do God’s will and not mine.
Guide the shepherd on the path to the green plain,
So that his flock may not fall into the abyss
and shadows of condemnation.
Do not abandon the just and ill one,
For, first of all, he cannot be judged for a sin he is not guilty of,
And second, because he forgives those who offended him.
Like you did for the Jesuit priest, Luis Maria Andreu,
Fill those in their final stages, due to illness, with blessings and glory.
May that grace glorify each and every one of their relatives.
Please grant them the miracle of their cure, but may God’s will be done.
