Day 8
From the Hymn AKATHISTOS to the Mother of God:
"Rejoice, cornland yielding a rich crop of mercies:
Rejoice, table bearing a wealth of forgiveness!
Rejoice, Thou Who makest to bloom the garden of delight:
Rejoice, Thou Who preparest a haven for souls!."
From the saints:
"However much you love the Blessed Virgin Mary she will always love you more than you can love her" (Saint Ignatius of Loyola).
To meditate:
Think about Mary's love: how she loved God, how she loved her neighbor and how she loves you. Isn't she a model of how you should love? She loved God with all her heart, mind and being. She loved her neighbor as herself. She wasn't never impatient, she never pronounced a harsh word, she never hated, nor despised anyone. She loves you with a Mother's heart and hopes that you love her back with a child's love.
Resolution:
Repeat throughout the day "the Mother of God is my Mother", and at the same time make an effort in loving like Mary does.
