From the Hymn AKATHISTOS to the Mother of God:
"Rejoice,Sea which drowned the symbolic Pharoah.
Rejoice, Rock which refreshed those thirsting for life.
Rejoice, Pillar of fire, guiding those in darkness.
Rejoice, Protection of the world, more spacious than a cloud!"
From the saints:
"The true son of Mary is a Christian who prays." (St. John Paul II).
Can a plant live without water? No. Well a Christian who does not pray is like a plant without water, sooner or later it dies. We need to pray. Jesus taught us how to pray when he taught the apostles the Our Father. Examine today whether you really pray. Praying is not just asking God for things or just talking to him. It is also listening. It is imitating Our Lady’s disposition that was so pleasing to God: “Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord.” If you do not yet know how to pray, ask Mary to help you. Try to look at her today, contemplate her in prayer and try to imitate her.
Today pray the Our Father, slowly and with all your heart.
