From the Hymn AKATHISTOS to the Mother of God:
"Rejoice, supplication before the Righteous Judge:
Rejoice, forgiveness of many sins!
Rejoice, robe of boldness for the naked:
Rejoice, love that doth vanquish all desire!
Rejoice, Virgin and Spouse!"
From the saints:
"The flesh of Christ is the flesh of Mary." (St. Augustine)
Today, Thursday, being a Eucharistic day we turn our gaze towards the Eucharist. With our gaze fixed on Him we can think of the words of the Ave Verum: “Ave Verum Corpus natum ex Maria Virgine.” The same Body born of the Virgin Mary is present in the Eucharist. What mystery! Take a moment to contemplate this great mystery, the Real Presence of Christ in the Most Holy Eucharist.
Today go to Mass in thanksgiving for such a great gift, and during Holy Communion ask Our Lady to help you receive the Lord with a heart like unto hers.
