Dear friends,
There are only a few days left before entering a liturgical time that brings with it a special call to conversion: Lent. It is a time of grace, because once again we feel called to purify everything that is in us that is not according to the gospel. It is always time for conversion. We are always on the path of conversion, but there are times when this is lived out and experienced more intensely. Therefore, we should not miss this opportunity. Let's not live Lent just like any other day of the year, no! It is a time that we recognize that the Lord extends his hand to us, giving us grace, so we can reach holiness. There is an aspect that could go unnoticed, especially by worldly men, who seek only passing pleasure and happiness, and is that we are also called to make this Lent a way of the cross. That is, to approach Christ who carries the cross. He carries it out of love for us, to save humanity. We, accepting the crosses of each day, can participate in the salvation of souls. With sacrifice and penance we can collaborate in the work of redemption. The Virgin told us that “we must make many sacrifices, do much penance" (first message - October 18, 1961). Sometimes this sacrifice will be an imposed penance, a fast, but other times this sacrifice could be smiling when I do not feel like it, forgetting about me and dedicating time to another, carrying the little crosses of each day, being kind to those around me, fight against laziness, offer the setbacks of life... the list is endless. Many times we ask ourselves, what can I do for you, Lord? If we look with simplicity and sincerity there is much we can offer.

Think about the Passion of Jesus

Thinking and meditating on the Passion makes us aware of the gravity of sin and the great love that God has for us. "God so loved the world that he gave his only Son" (Jn 3: 6). The Virgin concluded the second message with the words: "Think about the passion of Jesus."

The retraction of Dr. Morales according to the Diario Montañés

Dr. Luis Morales Noriega - well-known psychiatrist of Santander (in Cantabria, Spain) - was part of the commission appointed by the Bishopric of Santander for the study of the apparitions of San Sebastián de Garabandal since they began in the summer of 1961. He never hid his negative opinion on the matter, a position that had a decisive influence on the Bishopric’s stance. On the basis of the reports of that commission— in large part, Morales's studies— several episcopal notes were published in which it affirmed "no supernatural evidence" in the events of Garabandal.
